VH reiterates contest of Lok Sabha election from Khammam

Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has reiterated that he will contest from Khammam in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has reiterated that he will contest from Khammam in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Hanumantha Rao said that he had been working in Khammam to strengthen the Congress party for many years and he had fought against every injustice done to the people of Khammam.

“The party cadre is asking me to contest from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. Is there any leader who has worked harder than me for the party?” VH questioned.

The Congress leader stated that he has faith in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who will definitely do justice to him in the attain of party ticket from Khammam.

However, he has expressed regret over being sidelined in the party and said,” what have I done wrong in the party and what is the situation of seniors like me if the new leaders are asking the ticket,”.

Hanumantha Rao said that he was met injustice in the last Lok Sabha elections and his candidature was not considered during the selection of candidates.            

He also slammed the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) for doing politics in the name of religion in a bid to get votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
