Video: Lady Constable breathes life into woman who was crushed in Gymkhana Ground stampede
Naveena saw a woman crushed down and people running over her. She rushed to the woman, got down to her knees and tried to wake her up, but there was no response. Immediately she started CPR on the woman.
Hyderabad: Woman constable saved the life of a woman who fell unconscious after being crushed in the stampede outside the Gymkhana cricket stadium on Thursday.
Dawa Naveena of Hyderabad City police was deployed at the stadium gates for managing the crowd at Gymkhana ground. She narrated that several women were waiting at the gate for tickets since morning. When the gates opened, the crowd suddenly started charging in. As a result several of them fell down and received injuries.
Meanwhile, Naveena saw a woman crushed down and people running over her. She rushed to the woman, got down to her knees and tried to wake her up, but there was no response. Immediately she started CPR on the woman. Initially there was no response still but Naveena didn’t give up and continued CPR. Soon the woman showed some response. Naveena with the help of Begumpet Inspector P Srinivas Rao shifted the woman to hospital in his official vehicle and gave her medical aid. Deccan Chronicle reported.
The woman identified as Ranjitha, is a house keeping staff at Gymkhana.
Naveena says it was just god’s grace that she saw the woman, acted immediately and saved her life. A 2020 batch recruit Naveena used this life saving technique, which she was trained in during her training, for the first time in her career.
