Hyderabad: Chief Minister of Telangana A. Reventh Reddy revealed today that there are some leaders in the city who do not want to see progress and development, especially in the old city. The government desires the progress of the old city, but these leaders are trying to obstruct developmental works.
He said that efforts are being made to halt developmental activities in the city by calling Delhi, and pressure is being exerted from Delhi to stop some specific developmental projects. However, the Congress government of Telangana is not willing to bow to any pressure.
Just a day after laying the foundation stone for the MGBS to Falaknuma Metro Line expansion works with Hyderabad MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Saturday that some selfish leaders are attempting to create obstacles in the Hyderabad Metro.
He warned that if such leaders do not desist from their actions, not only will orders be issued to banish them from the city, but they will also not be allowed to enter the city again.
He said that one leader has called New Delhi to halt the new development works of the Hyderabad Metro, and now the central government has asked us to stop the work.
The Chief Minister said that if you cannot bring development to Hyderabad, then at least do not create obstacles. Revenant Reddy said after inaugurating the second flyover in Bairamalguda on Saturday that this is a government program and he cannot disclose further details.
Revanth Reddy warned those who are creating obstacles in the expansion works of the metro and development of Hyderabad, making it clear to the center that this is not a good act. He said that such individuals will be punished by issuing orders to expel them from the city.
He urged such individuals to change their behavior and cooperate for the development of Hyderabad. The Chief Minister said that the state government is preparing comprehensive plans to ensure the holistic development of Hyderabad. As part of these measures, the Vibrant Telangana Master Plan 2050 is being prepared.
Tenders have already been issued, and international consultants are being sought for the preparation of the master plan. He said that once the plan is presented by the consultants, it will be placed in the public domain and opinions will be sought from all sections.
He said that the state government is initiating the Musi Riverfront Development Project at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore to 50,000 crore to ensure the comprehensive development of the city.
He further stated that approximately 50,000 acres of agricultural land in the catchment area of the Musi River is being polluted with contaminated water.
