444 years of Charminar: 7-day long photo exhibition underway

Charminar was opened to the public for the first time on 1/1/1000 of the Hijri calendar, i.e. the first Muharram in the year 1000. As per the Hijri calendar, the historical monument turned 444 years old on Sunday, July 31.

Hyderabad: A seven-day long photo exhibition is underway at the historic Charminar in Hyderabad. The exhibition has been organised to mark 444 years of the iconic Charminar as per the Islamic Hijri calendar. The exhibition is open to the public till August 7 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The exhibition showcases photographs, maps, and sketches unveiling the history of Charminar through the centuries. Jointly organised by Deccan Archive and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, the exhibition is hosted on the ground floor of the landmark monument.
