Hyderabad SHE Teams Secure Conviction in 2 Harassment Cases, Accused Sentenced by Nampally Court

Hyderabad SHE Teams secured conviction in two harassment cases. Two accused were sentenced by the Nampally Court for harassing women through calls, blackmail, and social media.

Hyderabad SHE Teams, under the supervision of VC Sajjanar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, secured conviction in two harassment cases during the current month. The accused were found guilty of harassing women through repeated phone calls, messages, blackmail, and social media interactions, causing mental distress to victims. Both accused were produced before the Hon’ble XI Special Judicial Magistrate Court, Nampally, Hyderabad, and were sentenced to two days Simple Imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 1,050 each.

Hyderabad SHE Teams Continue Action Against Harassment Cases

According to a press note issued in Hyderabad on May 15, 2026, SHE Teams have been actively taking up complaints received through WhatsApp, direct petitions, and social media platforms to ensure the safety and dignity of women and girls across Hyderabad city.

The press note stated that successful convictions were secured in two harassment cases during the current month.

The initiative is being carried out under the supervision of VC Sajjanar IPS, Hon’ble Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City.

Karimnagar Man Convicted for Harassing Known Woman

In the first case, Chinthalapally Naveen Reddy, son of Chinthapally Laxma Reddy, aged 30 years and a resident of Karimnagar, was found guilty of harassing a known woman through repeated calls, messages, and blackmail.

According to SHE Teams officials, the accused continued the harassment despite receiving clear warnings from officials.

A petty case was registered against him under Section 292 BNS and Section 70(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act.

Hyderabad Man Convicted for Harassing Women Through Social Media

In the second case, Gadapa Naresh, son of Gadapa Rajanna, aged 28 years and a resident of Langerhouse, Hyderabad, was found guilty of harassing unknown women through phone calls and social media platforms including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram.

The press note stated that he repeatedly sent unsolicited messages and disturbed women, causing fear and mental stress.

A petty case was registered against him under Section 292 BNS and Section 70(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act.

Nampally Court Sentences Both Accused

Both respondents were convicted by the Hon’ble XI Special Judicial Magistrate, Nampally.

The court sentenced both accused to two days Simple Imprisonment (SI) along with a fine of Rs. 1,050 each.

SHE Teams Appeal Women to Report Harassment

Hyderabad SHE Teams appealed to the public, especially women and girls, to report incidents of online harassment, stalking, blackmail, or obscene communication through the SHE Teams helpline or official social media platforms.

The department stated that strict legal action would be taken against offenders involved in harassment of women in any form.

SHE Teams issued multiple alerts for women and social media users:

  • Beware of fake profiles, as fraudsters often create fake identities to gain trust and exploit victims.
  • Avoid oversharing personal information on social media platforms.
  • Use strong and unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
  • Report stalking, threats, abuse, or any form of harassment immediately.

The department stated:

“Don’t Suffer In Silence — Come Forward And Complain. Harassment thrives when victims stay quiet. Silence protects the offender, not you.”

SHE Teams assured confidentiality, quick action, and legal support for complainants.
