Hyderabad: Public sector oil marketing companies have ensured uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and LPG across Telangana amid rising fuel demand during the ongoing paddy procurement season. More than 37 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were supplied across the state in May 2026, while diesel and petrol sales also recorded strong growth, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Oil PSUs Ensure Continuous Fuel Supply Across Telangana
State-owned oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited have been coordinating operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and LPG throughout Telangana.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that the companies are coordinating transportation and distribution arrangements round the clock.
Officials said public sector oil marketing companies are continuously reviewing stock positions to effectively meet the increased demand.
Paddy Procurement Drives Higher Fuel Demand in Telangana
According to officials, harvesting and agricultural activities accelerated across Telangana during May 2026 as paddy procurement continued at a brisk pace.
The increased agricultural activity led to a significant rise in demand for oil products across the state.
Consumers using private fuel pumps are reportedly shifting to public sector petrol pumps due to lower prices. Institutional and commercial consumers are also purchasing fuel from public sector outlets because of pricing advantages.
Telangana Fuel Sales Register Strong Growth in May 2026
Fuel sales in Telangana recorded strong growth during May 2026, exceeding normal growth levels.
According to the data:
- Diesel retail sales increased by 12.6 percent
- Petrol retail sales increased by 9 percent
Officials said diesel sales at petrol pumps in five districts of Telangana increased by more than 25 percent.
In another 12 districts, diesel sales increased between 15 percent and 25 percent.

Oil Marketing Companies supplied more than 37 lakh household LPG cylinders across Telangana during May 2026.
Officials said the supply chain is functioning smoothly despite the sudden increase in energy demand across different sectors.
