CM Revanth Reddy Announces Indira Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars, 8,000 Buildings and Rs 10 Lakh Loan Linkage for Women SHGs

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announced Indira Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars, 8,000 SHG buildings, Rs 10 lakh loan linkage and 1,000 RTC buses for women self-help groups.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced a series of major decisions aimed at making women from self-help groups financially strong and creating crorepatis across Telangana by 2034. The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare plans for launching corporate-level Indira Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars in all constituency headquarters and virtually laid foundation stones for 8,000 Indira Stree Shakti buildings from the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat.

Telangana Government Plans Corporate-Level Indira Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars

The Chief Minister said comprehensive plans should be prepared to establish women-run super bazaars in all 119 constituency headquarters on a corporate model.

He instructed officials to identify government land and lease it to women self-help groups for 30 years on a nominal rental basis during the first phase.

Revanth Reddy told Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy to prepare proposals accordingly.

He also announced that the state government would provide a corpus fund for the establishment of the super bazaars, while women from the groups should also contribute some investment.

Rice Mills, Warehouses and Logistics Centers Planned in Every Mandal

The Chief Minister directed collectors to prepare proposals for construction of rice mills and warehouses in every mandal under the supervision of self-help groups.

He said the government would take responsibility for arranging loans from banks for these projects.

Addressing women self-help groups, Revanth Reddy said:

“Set up rice mills yourselves. Build logistics centers. The responsibility of providing land in mandals is mine. Construct large warehouses. In the future, we will take responsibility for getting loans from banks.”

He further stated that some millers and middlemen were cheating the government and giving these responsibilities to women would ensure accountability.

The Chief Minister instructed collectors to identify 2 to 4 locations in every mandal for warehouse construction and submit proposals.

He assured that the government would provide land and facilitate zero-interest bank linkage loans for the projects.

Foundation Stone Laid for 8,000 Indira Stree Shakti Buildings

As part of the “Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika” programme, the Chief Minister virtually laid foundation stones for 8,000 Indira Stree Shakti buildings across the state.

The programme was attended by:

  • Bhatti Vikramarka
  • Danasari Anasuya Seethakka
  • Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy
  • Several public representatives and senior officials

The Chief Minister also released the designs of Indiramma sarees to be distributed to women.

Women SHG Loan Linkage Increased From Rs 5 Lakh to Rs 10 Lakh

Revanth Reddy announced that bank loan linkage for women self-help groups would be increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

He stated that the government had already paid Rs 1,390 crore under the zero-interest scheme for women SHG loans.

The Chief Minister praised Nirmal district women for achieving 100 percent repayment of loans.

Telangana Government to Provide 1,000 RTC Buses to Women Groups

The Chief Minister said the government had prepared plans to allocate 1,000 RTC buses to women self-help groups so that they could earn around Rs 70,000 per month through rental income.

As part of the initiative, another 553 buses would be handed over from Parade Grounds on June 5.

V-Hub Incubator Programme for Women Entrepreneurs on May 29

CM Revanth Reddy announced that a V-Hub incubator programme would be launched on May 29 to provide business plans and entrepreneurial support to women self-help groups.

The initiative aims to help women succeed in business ventures and expand their enterprises.

Free RTC Travel and Other Welfare Measures Highlighted

The Chief Minister stated that the government had paid over Rs 10,000 crore to RTC in the last 29 months to provide free bus travel for women.

He also highlighted several upcoming initiatives including:

  • Indira Gandhi Stree Shakti Anganwadi buildings
  • Solar power plants
  • RTC buses to be given on rent
  • Various women development programmes

He described the foundation laying ceremony for 8,000 women SHG buildings as a major initiative in the country.

Telangana Targets One Crore Women Crorepatis by 2034

Interacting with women representatives from districts through video conference, the Chief Minister urged extensive awareness campaigns on crop diversification for higher agricultural profits.

He said:

“With the goal of making one crore women crorepatis by 2034, the entire Cabinet is moving forward treating all women like our own sisters.”

Collectors and women self-help group members from all districts participated in the programme in large numbers.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced major initiatives for women self-help groups in Telangana, including corporate-level Indira Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars, rice mills, warehouses, zero-interest loans, 1,000 RTC buses and increased bank loan linkage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The Chief Minister also virtually launched foundation stones for 8,000 Indira Stree Shakti buildings and reiterated the government’s goal of making one crore women crorepatis by 2034 through financial empowerment and entrepreneurship support.
