Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Runners Society, in partnership with NMDC Ltd., IDFC FIRST Bank and the Government of Telangana, has announced that the 15th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon powered by IDFC FIRST Bank will be held on August 29 and 30. More than 32,000 runners are expected to participate across the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K categories. The World Athletics label race carries a ₹45 lakh prize purse, while the event has already raised over ₹2.03 crore towards its ₹4 crore charity fundraising target.

Over 32,000 Participants Expected at Hyderabad Marathon
The 15th NMDC Hyderabad Marathon powered by IDFC FIRST Bank will bring together elite international athletes, India’s leading distance runners, and thousands of fitness enthusiasts.
The event is being organised by the Hyderabad Runners Society in partnership with:
- NMDC Ltd.
- IDFC FIRST Bank
- Government of Telangana
The marathon will feature four race categories:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
More than 32,000 runners are expected to participate during the two-day event.
World Athletics Label Race with ₹45 Lakh Prize Purse
The marathon is recognised as a World Athletics label race and offers a ₹45 lakh prize purse.
The organisers said the event has further strengthened its international reputation after receiving India’s first World Athletics Silver Sustainability Award.
Inclusive Run and SheRACES Accreditation
This year’s edition introduces an Inclusive Run, organised in association with the Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF).
More than 300 participants with disabilities are expected to take part in the Inclusive Run.
The marathon has also received SheRACES accreditation for promoting a safe and inclusive environment for women.
Finisher’s Medal and Event T-Shirt Unveiled
The official Finisher’s Medal and Event T-shirt were unveiled by:
- Krishna Kumar Thakur, Director (Personnel), NMDC Ltd.
- Shreepad Shende, Chief Marketing Officer, IDFC FIRST Bank
The unveiling ceremony was held in the presence of dignitaries, sponsors and partners.
Marathon to Support Charity Initiatives
The marathon will also serve as a major charity platform.
According to the organisers:
- 40 NGOs are participating.
- More than ₹2.03 crore has already been raised.
- The fundraising target is ₹4 crore.
- Contributions are being made by corporates, communities and individual donors.
Race Route
The flagship races will begin from People’s Plaza on August 30 and conclude at Gachibowli Stadium.
