The commemorative coin will feature Trump’s portrait along with national symbols celebrating the 1776–2026 milestone. US Mint Announces New $1 Coin Featuring Donald Trump
According to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the US Mint will produce a new $1 coin featuring President Donald Trump as part of the celebrations marking 250 years of American independence.
The front of the coin carries a portrait of Trump.
The design includes:
- The word “Liberty” above the portrait.
- The dates 1776–2026 engraved below.
- The words “In God We Trust” beside Trump’s portrait.
- Two stars flanking the image.
Reverse Features Eagle and 250th Anniversary Design
The reverse side of the coin features:
- An eagle with outstretched wings.
- An olive branch in one talon.
- Arrows in the other talon.
- A shield bearing the number 250 at the centre.
The following inscriptions also appear on the reverse:
- “United States of America”
- “One Dollar”
- “E Pluribus Unum”, the Latin motto meaning “Out of many, one.”
Scott Bessent Highlights Coin’s Significance
Announcing the coin on social media, Scott Bessent said:
“As America commemorates 250 years of independence, the @usmint will begin striking this new $1 gold coin to honour the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism.”
He added:
“Featuring President Trump, it celebrates the strength of American values, and the promise of a nation dedicated to preserving freedom for all.”
