CM Revanth Reddy Promises Telangana Education Kits for 27.50 Lakh Students, Vows to Transform Government Schools

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced Telangana Education Kits for 27.50 lakh government school students before August 15 while inaugurating a new Girls' High School building in Kothakota, Wanaparthy district.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening government schools, announcing that 27.50 lakh students will receive Telangana Education Kits containing nine essential items before August 15. Speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Girls’ High School in Kothakota, Wanaparthy district, the Chief Minister said the government is spending over ₹1,000 crore on the initiative and is determined to develop government schools on par with corporate institutions.

CM Inaugurates New Girls’ High School Building in Kothakota

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the new building of the Girls’ High School at Kothakota in Wanaparthy district.

The programme was attended by:

  • Minister D. Sridhar Babu
  • Minister Jupally Krishna Rao
  • Minister Vakiti Srihari
  • Planning Commission Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy
  • Public representatives from the district

During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with girl students before addressing them on the school campus.

Education Can Transform Lives, Says Revanth Reddy

Addressing the students, Revanth Reddy urged them to make full use of the opportunities available in government schools.

He said:

“Students studying in government schools should play the most important role in rebuilding tomorrow’s Telangana. The hands that once held agricultural tools should now hold pens and rewrite Telangana’s future.”

He added that education alone shapes a person’s future, brings light into life, enhances self-respect in society and fills parents with pride.

27.50 Lakh Students to Receive Telangana Education Kits

The Chief Minister announced that Telangana Education Kits containing nine different items would be distributed to students in government schools before August 15.

He said the government is spending more than ₹1,000 crore to provide the kits to 27.50 lakh students across the state.

Revanth Reddy also announced that the Education Department would create a WhatsApp-based feedback system, allowing students to report whether the items they receive are of good quality.

Government Schools Being Strengthened

The Chief Minister said the lack of proper infrastructure had led to a decline in student enrolment in government schools.

He said the government has therefore given special priority to strengthening government schools and restoring their reputation.

Revanth Reddy said he has taken a pledge to develop government schools to compete with corporate educational institutions.

He added that the transformation would take time and could not be completed within one or two years.

Teacher Promotions, Transfers and Performance

The Chief Minister said that after the present government came to power:

  • Teacher promotions pending for 16 years were completed.
  • Teacher transfers pending for 10 years were carried out.
  • Families affected by the implementation of GO 317 were reunited so that teachers could work peacefully.

He praised teachers for their efforts in improving education and said Telangana had moved from 36th place to 18th place in the Performance Grading Index announced by the Union Ministry of Education.

However, he said the state should continue working until it reaches the top two positions.

Revanth Reddy also announced that teachers showing outstanding performance would receive awards on Telangana Formation Day.

Teachers to Be Sent Abroad for Training

The Chief Minister said 50 teachers have already been sent abroad to study education systems in countries with some of the world’s best education models.

He announced that 150 teachers would be sent overseas next year for similar exposure.

Focus on Skills and Languages

Highlighting the impact of the AI revolution, Revanth Reddy warned that many white-collar jobs could disappear in the future.

He said the government is focusing on improving students’ skills to prepare them for blue-collar employment opportunities.

He also suggested that students should learn foreign languages such as:

  • German
  • Japanese

to improve their employment prospects.

Government Schools Must Build Telangana’s Future

The Chief Minister said government schools must play the most active role in building Telangana’s future.

He expressed hope that students from government schools would become:

  • Doctors
  • Lawyers
  • Engineers
  • Scientists

He added that students who may not excel in academics should strive to succeed in sports.

The Chief Minister assured that the government would provide full support to students who achieve excellence in sports.

He also stated that the government spends ₹1.08 lakh per student every year, and urged students to make the best use of this investment by studying sincerely and proving themselves.
