CM Revanth Reddy Says Telangana Boosting Infrastructure to Attract Investments, Inaugurates Amara Raja EV Cell Manufacturing Facility

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Telangana is strengthening infrastructure to attract investments while inaugurating the Amara Raja EV Cell Manufacturing Facility in Mahabubnagar. He also announced progress on key irrigation projects and employment initiatives.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the ‘Telangana Rising’ initiative is unstoppable and that the state government is strengthening infrastructure to attract more investments. Speaking after inaugurating the Amara Raja EV Cell Manufacturing Facility at the Amara Raja Giga Corridor in Divitipally, Mahabubnagar district, on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said the government is adopting the best policies of previous governments, promoting industries through transparent policies, and creating employment opportunities while improving infrastructure.

Revanth Reddy Highlights Telangana Rising Vision

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the EV Cell Manufacturing Facility of Amara Raja at the Amara Raja Giga Corridor in Divitipally, Mahabubnagar district, Revanth Reddy said the government is carrying forward the policies introduced during the administrations of:

  • N. Chandrababu Naidu (1994–2004)
  • Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (2004–2014)
  • The government that served from 2014 to December 2023

He said the state is adopting the best practices and policies of previous governments to avoid policy paralysis.

“Our government has introduced various policies mainly to promote industry, tourism, and health as part of the Telangana Rising 2047 initiative. Since infrastructure is crucial for establishing industries in Telangana, the government is moving forward by formulating transparent policies,” the Chief Minister said.

Talks Underway on Water Allocation

Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana government is holding discussions with a neighbouring state and said people of Mahabubnagar district would soon receive good news.

He said talks are in progress to secure:

  • 90 TMC of water for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme
  • 30 TMC of water for the Dindi Project

The Chief Minister said these initiatives would help create a favourable environment for industries and generate employment opportunities in the district.

Jobs for Farmers and Praise for Amara Raja

Revanth Reddy stressed that farmers who gave their land for the Amara Raja project should be provided employment in the new EV Cell Manufacturing Unit.

He praised the company for drawing inspiration from China, Japan, Germany and Korea and said it was a matter of pride that Amara Raja is competing with China in the electric vehicle sector.

The Chief Minister said the Amara Raja unit at Divitipally currently employs 700 people, including 400 women, describing it as a strong example of women’s empowerment.

Climate Change and Electric Vehicles

Expressing concern over increasing pollution and climate change, Revanth Reddy said the El Niño effect has resulted in inadequate rainfall, creating hardships for farmers.

He said significant climatic changes have been witnessed since the COVID-19 pandemic and stressed the need to reduce pollution.

According to the Chief Minister, promoting electric vehicles is essential for pollution control.

Mahabubnagar to Be Developed as a Model District

Calling himself a son of Palamuru, Revanth Reddy pledged to transform Mahabubnagar into a model district.

He said the district, once known for drought, has now progressed significantly.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the following institutions have already been established in Mahabubnagar:

  • IIITs
  • Engineering colleges
  • ATC centres
  • Young India Integrated Schools

He said the primary objective of ATCs and polytechnic colleges is to create blue-collar jobs.

Revanth Reddy also said the pending:

  • Kalwakurthy Project
  • Bhima Project
  • RDS Project
  • Nettempadu Project

are being completed.
