Rajendranagar Task Force Busts Matka Gang in Attapur, Seven Arrested; Cash, Mobile Phones Seized

Rajendranagar Task Force and Attapur Police arrested seven accused in a Matka gambling raid at Panduranganagar, Attapur. Police seized Rs. 17,740 in cash, five mobile phones, and two sets of playing cards.

Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar Zone Task Force, along with Attapur Police, busted a Matka gang and arrested seven accused persons during a raid at an open area behind Hanuman Temple, Panduranganagar, Attapur, on July 15, 2026. Police registered Crime No. 816/2026 under Section 112 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 9(i) of the Gaming Act after seizing Rs. 17,740 in cash, five mobile phones, and two sets of playing cards.

Seven Accused Arrested in Attapur Gambling Raid

According to the press note, on 15.07.2026, during the evening hours, the sleuths of the Rajendranagar Zone Task Force, acting on specific information, along with Attapur Police, raided an open area behind Hanuman Temple, Panduranganagar, Attapur.

Police found A1 to A7 allegedly playing cards for illegal profits, an activity stated to be banned and restricted by the State Government.

Following their apprehension and the completion of the confession-cum-seizure panchanama, a case was registered.

Details of the Accused

The arrested accused have been identified as:

  1. Naresh Nayak, son of Shankar Nayak, 30, Labour, resident of H.No. 4-7-155/69/NP, Near Ram Bagh Temple, Panduranganagar, Attapur.
  2. D. Sunil, son of Babu Rao, 29, Labour, resident of Panduranganagar, Attapur.
  3. Venkatesh Rathod, son of Pulya Nayak, 35, Labour, resident of Panduranganagar, Attapur, native of Pasaladi Tanda, Lingampalli, Sedam, Gulbarga, Karnataka State.
  4. Raju, son of Kalya Rathod, 26, Labour, resident of Panduranganagar, Attapur, native of Jawahar Nagar Village, Gurmitkal Town, Yadgir District, Karnataka State.
  5. R. Gopal, son of T. Hanaiah, 50, Labour, resident of H.No. 4-6-149, Panduranganagar, Attapur.
  6. Ramji, son of Bhimla Nayak, 42, Labour, resident of Panduranganagar, Attapur, native of H.No. 5-67, Batgera Village, Sedam, Gulbarga, Karnataka State. Mobile: 9573006304.
  7. A. Praveen Reddy, son of Jayaram Reddy, 30, Labour, resident of H.No. 4-7-156/7/1/B, Panduranganagar, Attapur.
