Adilabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught an Executive Engineer (EE) and an Assistant Engineer (AE) of the Irrigation Department while allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs 60,000 bribe for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a poultry farm in Sonal village, Adilabad district. The tainted cash was recovered during the trap operation, and both officials will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Karimnagar for judicial remand. Further investigation is underway.

ACB Traps Irrigation Officials in Adilabad Bribery Case
According to the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Executive Engineer Rathod Vittal allegedly demanded a Rs 60,000 bribe from a complainant for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The NOC was required to facilitate the construction of a poultry farm on agricultural land at Sonal village in Adilabad district, as a minor irrigation canal passes adjacent to the land.

Bribe Allegedly Accepted Through Assistant Engineer
The ACB stated that the bribe was allegedly accepted through Assistant Engineer Rupavathi Ramesh.
Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and recovered the tainted cash of Rs 60,000 from the possession of the Assistant Engineer.
Officials Accused of Misusing Official Position
According to the ACB, both Executive Engineer Rathod Vittal and Assistant Engineer Rupavathi Ramesh allegedly abused their official positions and acted dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
The anti-corruption agency said both officials will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Karimnagar for judicial remand.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
