38 Lakh Beneficiaries to Receive Cashless Healthcare

The newly launched scheme will benefit:

  • Around 8 lakh government employees and pensioners
  • About 29.80 lakh dependent family members

This brings the total number of beneficiaries to nearly 38 lakh.

Eligible beneficiaries can receive completely cashless treatment without spending any money at 886 empanelled private hospitals across Telangana.

1,816 Medical Procedures Covered Under CGHS Rates

The government said the scheme covers 1,816 medical and surgical procedures.

The treatment package rates have been fixed according to the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) package.

Bhatti Vikramarka Highlights Government’s Commitment

Speaking at the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the government’s objective is to provide government employees with a strong and reliable healthcare protection system, ensuring they do not have to worry about treatment expenses or hospital bills.

He said that in the past, many employees and their family members were forced to take loans to meet medical expenses during illness.

According to him, the Indiramma Government has attempted to remove this burden by introducing completely cashless treatment.

Cabinet Sub-Committee Finalised the Scheme

Bhatti Vikramarka said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee for the welfare of government employees.

The committee was chaired by Bhatti Vikramarka, while D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Seethakka served as members.

He said the new Employees Health Scheme was finalised after extensive consultations held by the committee.

Health Trust to Ensure Transparency

To ensure transparent and effective implementation, the Telangana Government has established a special Health Trust.

The trust includes equal representation of government officials and representatives of employees’ organisations to effectively supervise the implementation of the scheme.

Bhatti Vikramarka Criticises Previous BRS Government

During his address, Bhatti Vikramarka criticised the previous BRS government, stating that government employees had struggled for better medical protection during the past 10 years and had even organised a statewide strike, but their demands did not receive adequate attention.

He claimed that the present government is clearing around ₹10,000 crore in pending medical bills from the previous government’s tenure.

He further said that nearly ₹2,000 crore is being released every month, and that he personally reviews the process every 15 days to ensure that no pending bills remain.

Government Prioritised Employees’ Welfare

Bhatti Vikramarka said an employee worried about medical expenses and debts cannot perform official responsibilities with full concentration.

He said the government prioritised solving this issue on humanitarian grounds.

He added that the new Employees Health Scheme is part of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision to strengthen the education and healthcare sectors.

He also recalled that the government had earlier increased the free treatment limit under the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, enabling 1.06 crore eligible families across Telangana to receive corporate-quality free medical treatment.

The Government of Telangana has launched the New Employees Health Scheme under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, providing cashless healthcare to nearly 38 lakh government employees, pensioners and their dependent family members. With treatment available at 886 empanelled private hospitals, 1,816 medical and surgical procedures, CGHS package rates, and oversight through a dedicated Health Trust, the government says the scheme strengthens healthcare security while ensuring transparency and accessible medical care for eligible beneficiaries.
