According to the official information, Majid Hussain paid a surprise visit to a MeeSeva Centre in Asif Nagar after receiving complaints from the public.

Family Register Certificate Introduced by Telangana Government
The official note stated that the Telangana Government has recently introduced the Family Register Certificate to simplify and speed up the process of obtaining various government services and documents.
Under Government Order (GO) No. 172, citizens can now obtain the Family Register Certificate through MeeSeva centres.
The certificate will contain the basic details of all family members in a single document, while the ration card number will be used as the Family Register ID.
According to the government, the certificate can be used in the future for:
- Government welfare schemes
- Educational institutions
- Employment-related purposes
- Legal matters
- Other government services
The new system is intended to reduce the need for citizens to submit multiple certificates for different services.
MLA Warns Against Overcharging Citizens
According to complaints received from the public, the official fee for the Family Register Certificate is Rs. 40.
However, citizens alleged that some MeeSeva and eSeva centres were charging more than the prescribed fee.
The complaints alleged that applicants were:
- Asked to purchase a separate application form.
- Charged an additional Rs. 10 to Rs. 50 for the form.
- Charged separate fees for filling up the application.
- Made to pay more than the prescribed government fee.
Expressing serious anger over these allegations, Majid Hussain issued a strong warning to MeeSeva operators and other persons involved.
He instructed that:
- Applicants must not be forced to purchase any form.
- Citizens must not be charged more than Rs. 40.
- The total cost of obtaining the Family Register Certificate is only Rs. 40.
- Neither collecting nor demanding any amount above Rs. 40 is permissible.
The MLA also appealed to the public to immediately report anyone demanding extra money, assuring that strict action would be taken against those found violating the rules.
How to Apply for the Family Register Certificate
According to the official information, citizens only need to visit a MeeSeva or eSeva centre and submit their details online.
After the application is submitted:
- An acknowledgement receipt will be issued.
- The applicant’s details will be forwarded to the concerned Mandal office for verification.
- After verification, the Family Register Certificate will be issued within two days.
The official clarification also stated that applicants do not need to make repeated visits to the Mandal office, nor do they need to purchase any stamp paper or other documents for obtaining the certificate.
