Another 6 gates of Sriram Sagar Project lifted

Officials who have already raised 20 gates and released water downstream have lifted another 6 gates. At present 26 gates have been lifted and 1,07,118 cusecs of water has been released downstream.

Hyderabad: The flood flow is increasing in Sriram Sagar project in Nizamabad district.  At present, the reservoir has an inflow of 81,730 cusecs. 

Officials who have already raised 20 gates and released water downstream have lifted another 6 gates. At present 26 gates have been lifted and 1,07,118 cusecs of water has been released downstream.

The full water level of the reservoir is 1091 feet, the current water level is 1087.50 feet.  The full water capacity of the dam is 90.30 TMCs, currently it is 74,826 TMCs.

Meanwhile, the flow of water in the Godavari is decreasing at Bhadrachalam. Water flowed at 52.9 feet in the morning. At present the authorities have withdrawn the third danger warning. The second danger warning is ongoing. Godavari has an ongoing flood of 14,21,034 cusecs.

Due to the flood, flood water reached the west steps of Bhadrachalam Temple. Also, the flood water entered the Annadana Sattra. The locals were evacuated from their houses and shifted to the rehabilitation centers. Traffic from Bhadrachalam to Dummugudem and Charlamandala was stopped.
