Appeal to donate blood for Thalassemia patients

Please come forward and donate blood at Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society Blood bank at Shivrampally opposite National Police Academy, Rajendernagar, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) have requested to all colleges’ NSS officials and NGOs and youths, government and other officials to please come forward to save thalassemia patients by arranging blood camps or donating blood because summer becomes cruellest season for thalassemia patients.

TSCS have urged people to appeal to all for individual blood donations and blood donation camp organizers.

Blood banks often face supply shortages in summer because donors fears donating blood, and children who requires blood for every 20 days struggles to survive in hot summer. The scarcity of blood in summers mounts concern of parents with thalassemia children to keep their kids alive.

Around 3085 patients registered in thalassemia society gets free blood from TSCS. I being a father of thalassemia patient very well know the struggle. On behalf of all thalassemia patients, I request you to donate blood and organize blood camps in summers there is a real need of blood for these children to beat summer.

And I also want to clarify the myth that donating blood in summers makes you weak and feel fatigue is just a wrong assumption.

“A healthy person can donate blood in summer if he takes care of the body properly by consuming adequate water and other liquids before and after the donation”.

Please come forward and donate blood at Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society Blood bank at Shivrampally opposite National Police Academy, Rajendernagar, Hyderabad.
