Asad Owaisi raises slogans of ‘Babri Masjid Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad, in Lok Sabha

During the debate, Asaduddin Owaisi raised slogans of 'Babri Masjid Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad' in the Lok Sabha and said, 'I believe that the place where Babri Masjid stood will remain forever, by the grace of Allah.'

New Delhi: President and Member of Parliament of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi participated in a brief debate on the Ram temple in the Lok Sabha today.

During the debate, Asaduddin Owaisi raised slogans of ‘Babri Masjid Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad’ in the Lok Sabha and said, ‘I believe that the place where Babri Masjid stood will remain forever, by the grace of Allah.’

He mentioned that Parliament had condemned the demolition of Babri Masjid on December 16, 1992, and violence was attributed to organizations like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), RSS, and others involved in the incident.

Asad Owaisi accused the central government of awarding the Bharat Ratna to those responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid. He further stated that the Supreme Court had said in its judgment that the destruction of Islamic monuments is painful.

The Supreme Court had rejected the report submitted by the Archaeological Survey of India in its judgment. Owaisi said that the temple was not demolished to build a mosque.

Asad Owaisi further said that he wants to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ‘Is Modi’s government only for Hindus or for the entire nation? Please tell us. Is Modi’s government only a government of Hinduism, does the Constitution permit this? This country does not belong to any religion.’

“Are you trying to send a message with the events of January 22 that one religion will dominate and succeed over those who believe in another religion? What message are you sending to the 170 million Muslims through this House, I leave it to you,” he added.

Owaisi claimed that after the incident on December 6, all those who were arrested under the TADA Act were released upon reaching old age. Certainly, it wasn’t the BJP government; well, I respect Lord Ram, but I detest Nathuram Godse. My generations will detest him, as Nathuram Godse shot the person whose last word was ‘Ram’. Asad Owaisi’s slogans of ‘Babri Masjid Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad’ in Parliament sparked controversy.”
