Azharuddin included in Congress’ list of star campaigners; Sidhu snubbed

The party on Sunday announced a list of star campaigners who will campaign for the party's candidates in the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Lucknow: The Indian National Congress has included cricketer-turned-politician, Mohammed Azharuddin in the list of its star campaigners for the 4th phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, 2022.

The party on Sunday announced a list of star campaigners who will campaign for the party’s candidates in the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Party chief in Punjab, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been once again snubbed by the grand old party. Navjot Sidhu’s omission comes at a time when the Congress leadership on Sunday reposed faith in Charanjit Singh Channi as its chief ministerial face for the February 20 Punjab polls.

It must be recalled that Navjot Sidhu has been rebelling against Channi since he replaced Captain Amarinder Singh as the chief minister of Punjab.

The list of star campaigners includes Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ajay Kumar Lallu, Aradhana Misra ‘Mona’, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot, Charanjit Singh Channi, Bhupesh Baghel, Salman Khurshid, Pramod Tiwari, PL Punia, Rajiv Shukla, Sachin Pilot, Deepender Singh Hooda, Mohd Azharuddin, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Pradeep Jain Aditya, Zafar Ali Naqvi, K L Sharma, Hardik Patel, Imran Pratapgarhi, Varsha Gaikwad, Supriya Shrinate, Rajesh Tiwari, Satyanarayan Patel, Tauquir Alam, Pradeep Narwal, Uma Shankar Pandey, Shiv Pandey.

However, Sidhu’s name was not mentioned on the list.
