New Delhi: In a bizarre incident that occurred in Bhand district of Madhya Pradesh state, a girl gulped down the mobile phone. Following a fight between the siblings over the phone, the sister got angry and swallowed the phone on Friday. The age of the girl is said to be 18 years.
After the incident, the girl was admitted to Gwalior’s Jayarogia Hospital where doctors performed an emergency surgery to safely remove the phone from the girl’s stomach.
As soon as she swallowed the mobile, the girl started having severe pain in her stomach. After that she started vomiting. Her family wasted no time and rushed her to a hospital in Gwalior.
Upon reaching the hospital, the doctors conducted ultrasound, X-ray and CT scan of the girl along with other tests. The phone could not be safely removed by endoscopy or laparoscopy. So surgery was decided.
A team of doctors operated for about two hours to safely remove the phone from the girl’s stomach and the mobile phone was taken out from the girl’s stomach. The girl was given ten stitches. Her condition is stable and she will be discharged from the hospital very soon. Dr. Kushwaha, who has more than two decades of experience, has expressed surprise at this strange incident.
