New Delhi: The BJP took a step to strengthen its engagement with the Muslim Pasmanda communities by appointing Tariq Mansoor, former vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, as one of its vice presidents.
During his tenure, Mr. Mansoor played a crucial role in guiding AMU towards a “middle path” amidst the anti-NRC and CAA protests.
Additionally, he collaborated with the RSS to promote the teachings of Mughal prince Dara Shikoh, emphasizing peaceful Hindu-Muslim coexistence, which contrasted with the approach of his brother, Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
