Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that the previous BRS government had set up a special Corporation for the Kaleswaram project and borrowed a loan of Rs.97,499 crores.
Participating in a short discussion on “Telangana State Finances-White Paper” in the Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister found fault with former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao for speaking lies about the Kaleswaram project in the full House of Assembly and disclosed the details of the debts incurred by the previous KCR government in the matter of irrigation projects.
“At the time of approaching the banks for loans, the BRS government promised that water would be supplied to farmers, industries, residents and it would collect money from them after the construction of the Kaleshwaram project,” the Chief Minister said.
He alleged that the previous BRS government had brought loans in the name of Kaleshwaram project, but it didn’t utilities loans properly.
The Chief Minister said the main purpose of releasing a white paper on the State economy was to put the facts before the people and was to disclose the actual status of State’s financial position.
