BRS never sought political alliances: KTR
BRS Working President and Minister KT Rama Rao have made it clear that his party never sought political alliances during elections since the formation of the Telangana State.
Hyderabad: BRS Working President and Minister KT Rama Rao have made it clear that his party never sought political alliances during elections since the formation of the Telangana State.
Taking to X on Wednesday, KT Rama Rao said that in fact, it was the opposition that had come together setting aside their ideological differences to defeat the formidable Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He disclosed a past incident in 2018 when the then BJP State president Dr. K Laxman made overtures towards an alliance with BRS ahead of GHMC elections. However, the latter swiftly rejected the proposal, highlighting their commitment to independent political endeavors.
Condemning the allegations made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said that the BRS party tried to forge an alliance with the BJP, KT Rama Rao said that the political tourists with selective amnesia who are fabricating stories should know this.
Why should BRS ally with a party which didn’t even get deposits in 105-Assembly segments?, KT Rama Rao asked.
He also asked another question stating why BRS needs support of BJP in GHMC elections when the party has the strength to form on its own. The Minister said that the activists of BRS were fighters and they were not cheaters like the BJP.
