City Sikhs to observe Martyrdom Day of Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb on Sunday

To mark the supreme sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb for the nation at the altar of Dharma, the City Sikhs will observe his Martyrdom Day on December 17.

Hyderabad: To mark the supreme sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur Saheb for the nation at the altar of Dharma, the City Sikhs will observe his Martyrdom Day on December 17.

Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sitafalmandi, Secunderabad will hold “Vishaal Keertan Darbar” (Mass Congregation) from 11 am to 4 pm followed by a “Nagar Keertan” (Holy Procession) at 4.30 pm on Sunday, according to S Jaswinder Singh and other committee members of the Prabhandak Committee.

They said “Vishaal Keertan Darbar” (Mass Congregation) will be held at the Municipal Grounds, Chilkalguda, Secunderabad on December 17 from 11 am to 4 pm.

The event will be marked by the recitation of Holy Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers). In the evening, holy procession will be taken out from the Gurudwara Saheb Sitafalmandi at 4.30 pm.

Guru Granth Sahebji (Holy Scripture of Sikhs) will be carried on a decorated vehicle. Keerthani Jathas (group preachers) will render Shabad Keertans (Holy Hymns) all along the procession.
