CM Revanth Clarifies: Metro and Pharma City Expansion Projects Not Cancelled Despite Previous Indications

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made it clear that the proposed expansion projects of Airport Metro and Pharma City have not been cancelled.

The Chief Minister stated that these projects are being undertaken to streamline processes, keeping in mind the public interest.

During the interaction with media persons at the Secretariat here on Monday, Revanth Reddy said the State government had decided to set up a Metro line from MGBS to Airport via old city and there would be a link to the Metro line from Nagol to LB Nagar and the Airport at Chandrayangutta.

He said the previous Metro line proposed by the BRS government from BHEL to the Airport would be 32 km and the new proposed line would be reduced the distance between Airport and the city.

“If necessary, we will extend the Metro service from Miyapur to Ramachandrapuram and Mind Space to the Financial District,” he said.

The new Metro corridors that the Congress government has proposed will be completed at a lower cost compared to the cost proposed by the previous government,” he explained.

The Chief Minister also informed that the State government would set up special clusters with zero pollution between Pharma City, Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the construction of houses would be undertaken for those working in industries at special clusters.

“We are planning to make arrangements for the workers to provide all facilities to ensure that the situation should not arise for workers coming to Hyderabad,” Revanth Reddy disclosed.

The Chief Minister said that the special universities would be set up to enhance the skills among the youth and the training would be provided to them by leading industrialists and institutes on par with international standards.

He also reiterated that the State government would resolve the problems of journalists after the appointment of the Chairman to the Press Academy and assured that all problems be resolved in 100 days.
