Cong to waive off farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh if voted to power: Revanth Reddy
He said the farm loans will be cleared with interest in a phased manner by the government itself and added unwanted expenditures will be stopped.
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A Revanth Reddy, MP on Wednesday said that the party would waive off the farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh if voted to power in the next Assembly election.
Speaking at the “Meet the Press” programme, organised by Telangana Study Platform here, Reddy said the credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashehar Rao for making the state indebted.
He said the farm loans will be cleared with interest in a phased manner by the government itself and added unwanted expenditures will be stopped.
Rythu Bandhu would be extended to poor farmers instead of rich, Reddy said.
The TPCC President said keeping in view of state financial status, the Congress party had announced the “Warangal Declaration” and criticised that the TRS government had borrowed loans of Rs 5 lakh crore during the last seven years.
He said that the Congress party will announce a declaration on medical, education and unemployment in the coming days.
Stating that there is no confusion on crops if Congress voted to power, Reddy said awareness will be created to the farmers on crops and alternative crops.
