Congress to urge EC to Cancel Huzurabad By-Elections
Congress party leaders like AICC official spokesperson Dasoju Shravan and others will call on the Central Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and urge him to cancel the elections.
Hyderabad: The Congress party has decided to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India and urge it to cancel by-elections to Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
Congress party leaders like AICC official spokesperson Dasoju Shravan, AICC secretary Challa Vamshichand Reddy, TPCC leaders Kusuma Kumar Harkara Venugopal will call on the Central Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and urge him to cancel the elections.
In their complaint, they would tell the EC that the ruling TRS and the BJP were not violating model code of conduct but also spending ₹6000 to ₹10,000 per vote to buy the voters and win the elections. They would also tell the EC that the two parties were giving gifts and offering inducements to the voters to lure them.
The Congress party leaders have claimed that in three and half an hour they distributed ₹90 crore across Huzurabad segment. They also said that no other constituency had witnessed such huge number of irregularities like Huzurabad.
