Hyderabad: Public sector oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited are working round the clock to ensure uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and LPG across Telangana amid a sharp rise in fuel demand during the ongoing grain procurement season. Diesel sales in Telangana increased by 12.6 percent and petrol sales rose by 9 percent during May 2026.

Fuel Demand Rises During Procurement and Harvesting Season
According to the oil marketing companies, intensified agricultural and harvesting activities linked to major grain procurement operations during May 2026 significantly increased fuel consumption across Telangana.
Officials stated that competitive pricing at PSU retail fuel outlets also resulted in increased demand from retail, institutional and commercial consumers.
The companies said the fuel supply chain across the state is functioning smoothly despite the rise in demand.
Telangana Diesel Sales Grow by 12.6 Percent
Fuel sales recorded significant growth across Telangana during May 2026.
According to official figures:
- Diesel retail sales increased by 12.6 percent
- Petrol retail sales increased by 9 percent
Officials stated that the growth was much higher than the normal trend.
Five districts in Telangana recorded more than 25 percent growth in diesel sales from PSU retail outlets.
Another 12 districts witnessed diesel sales growth between 15 percent and 25 percent.
Over 37 Lakh LPG Cylinders Delivered Across Telangana
The oil companies stated that more than 37 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered across Telangana during May 2026.
Officials said stock positions and logistics operations are being continuously monitored to maintain uninterrupted supply across the state.
The coordination is being carried out jointly with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Telangana state administration.
PSU Oil Companies Monitor Fuel Stocks Round the Clock
The companies said fuel availability across Telangana remains stable and adequate.
Authorities advised consumers to rely only on official information issued by authorized agencies and oil marketing companies regarding fuel availability.
Officials reiterated that continuous monitoring of stocks and transportation arrangements is being carried out to prevent disruptions.
