Software Engineer Arrested in Hyderabad for Assaulting Traffic Police During Vehicle Check at GPO X Road

Hyderabad police arrested software engineer Pasupula Yeshwanth for allegedly assaulting traffic police personnel during vehicle checking at GPO X Road under Abid Road Police Station limits.

Hyderabad: Pasupula Yeshwanth, a 26-year-old software engineer from Ms Maqtha, Rajbhavan Road, Khairthabad, Hyderabad, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days for allegedly assaulting traffic police personnel during vehicle checking at GPO X Road under the limits of Abid Road Police Station. The incident occurred on May 24, 2026, at about 17:45 hours when traffic police intercepted a Honda CB 350 motorcycle carrying two persons and a pet animal without helmets.

According to the press note issued by K Parashuram, Sri Anil Kumar of Abid Road Police Station lodged a complaint regarding the incident.

On May 24, 2026, at about 17:45 hours, SI Anil Kumar along with his staff, including HG 6793 Y Kumar and other personnel of Abid Traffic Police Station, was conducting vehicle checking at GPO X Road in Hyderabad.

During the checking, officials intercepted a Honda CB 350 motorcycle bearing registration number TG09BA 1958. The vehicle was carrying two persons along with a pet animal.

Police noticed that both the rider and the pillion rider were not wearing helmets.

Accused Allegedly Attacked Traffic Personnel During Checking

Traffic officials requested the rider to produce his driving licence and other relevant documents for issuing an e-challan for the traffic violation.

According to the complaint, the rider allegedly behaved in a highly arrogant and aggressive manner and attacked HG Y. Kumar.

The accused also allegedly abused Abids Police Station traffic staff in filthy language, caused injuries and created nuisance and damage in a public place.

FIR Registered Under Multiple BNS Sections

Police registered a case vide FIR No. 169/2026 under Sections 121(1), 118(1), 324(4), 352 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against Pasupula Yeshwanth, son of P. Sunkanna.

The accused is aged 26 years and works as a software engineer. He is a resident of Ms Maqtha, Rajbhavan Road, Khairthabad, Hyderabad.

Accused Remanded to 14 Days Judicial Custody

Following the registration of the case, police arrested Pasupula Yeshwanth and produced him before the Hon’ble II Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally.

The court remanded the accused to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.

Police said the case investigation is ongoing.
