Disruptive technology is shaping character of modern warfare: CAS

Hyderabad: Chief of the Army Staff (CAS) General Manoj Pande on Saturday said the disruptive technology is shaping the character of modern warfare.

Speaking after reviewing a Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, outskirts of the city, the CAS said that the technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing , robotics, autosonics are names of few no longer confined to theory but physically manifesting in battle spaces. Therefore, technology adoption is an essential mandate, he said.

General Manoj Pande said, there is also transformational reform underway in the Armed forces, in the human resources management and other domains such as capability development with focus on Atmanirbharatha. As young officers, you will be a torchbearer to lead the changes.

“ You will face many challenges as you take on new responsibilities which will test your capability. Your professional learning does not finish here today. It will be a long process”, he said.

He urged to continue to pursue the knowledge– be it technical expertise in equipment & systems of battle spaces, concept of processor concurrently imbibing leadership qualities is the bound and duty of every officer of the Armed forces. Therefore set for yourself higher standards of discipline, dedication to duty and professional excellence.

Stating that the Indian Air Force has distinguished itself with great professionalism in the service of the nation, the CAS said as the Indian pride the performance of Indian Air Force has been impactable.

He said in both war and peace, the Air Warriors have contributed tirelessly and unfeelingly in every time. Over the years the Air Force has continued to evolve into one of the best Air Forces in the World. It also added the latest aircraft, modern air defence system which is all operational by oneself.

He also complimented the women candidates who are passing today.
