Doctors leave scissors inside a woman’s stomach

Following a surgical procedure, doctors inadvertently left a pair of scissors inside a woman’s stomach, leading to a peculiar incident at a government pharmacy in Andhra Pradesh.

The incident occurred in the Ellore district of the state, where a woman sought medical attention due to severe abdominal pain. An X-ray revealed the presence of scissors within her stomach.

The sequence of events reveals that a pregnant woman had visited a government hospital for maternity care approximately a week prior. Under the care of a senior surgeon, the woman successfully underwent a cesarean section and delivered a baby.

Unfortunately, the surgical scissors were unintentionally left inside her abdomen, and subsequent stitches were administered. The woman later experienced abdominal discomfort, leading to the discovery of the scissors.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the District Collector initiated an inquiry and requested a report from the District Medical and Health Officer. In a regrettable turn of events, an employee of the hospital shared the X-ray image on social media, prompting admonishment from authorities. The post was subsequently deleted by the individual named Pras.

The woman’s family members expressed their dismay at the doctors involved in the incident. Furthermore, it has come to light that details pertaining to the woman were mysteriously expunged from the hospital records, adding to the complexity of the situation.
