Madinah: Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Qari, a guest Imam for Taraweeh prayers at Masjid Al-Nabawi and the Imam of Masjid Al Qiblatain in Madinah, passed away.
Son of the late Shaykh Khalil Al-Hussary Al-Qari, he was a well-known Sunni-Egyptian reciter and teacher. He was the first to record the complete Quran in several recitation styles. He was the founding president of the Quran reciters union.
Shaykh Mahmoud Al Qari’s namaz-e-janaza will be led in Masjid Al Nabawi, Madinah, following Maghrib prayers on Saturday. He’ll be buried in Jannatul Baqi. Media website of Haramain Sharifain reported.
