Gym owner, aide arrested by Hyderabad police for selling banned stamina-boosting injections
Hyderabad: Two individuals involved in the illicit sale of steroids, injections, and tablets designed to enhance stamina and build muscle have been apprehended by Hyderabad’s Cyberabad police. The seized materials, valued at 10 lakh, were confiscated by law enforcement.
Working in collaboration with the Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Madhapur zone and the anti-drug team, the Kollur police acted on specific information to arrest two suspects: Ahmed Bin Abdul Qader, a 33-year-old gym owner and trainer from Chandrayangutta, and his accomplice Md Ibrahim, a 27-year-old cab driver from Mallapur.
Qader, the owner of Al-Nahdi Fitness Club in Chandrayangutta, had been operating the gym for a year but faced financial difficulties due to a lack of clients. In order to attract more customers, he hatched a plan to sell banned stamina-boosting injections. “Due to insufficient earnings from his gym, he devised a scheme to sell prohibited stamina-enhancing injections to lure customers,” explained SOT DCP MA Rasheed. Qader sourced these injections, steroids, and tablets from Ibrahim, purchasing each injection vial for 300 rupees and selling them to clients for 1,400 rupees.
Following his arrest in Kollur, Qader admitted to storing the drugs in his gym. As a result, law enforcement seized injections and tablets worth 10 lakh from the gym on Tuesday.
