Hateful attacks have no place in America: Biden on killings of four Muslim men

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has offered a $10,000 reward to whoever provides information leading to the killer or killers’ arrest.

Denouncing the killings of four Muslim men in New Mexico state, President Joe Biden has said such hateful attacks have no place in America. Calling the killings of four Muslim men in Albuquerque as horrific, Biden said he was angered and saddened.

He expressed his anger on the killings by posting a tweet in which he expressed solidarity with the with the victims’ families.

Police suspect the killings could be a hate crime. Expressing outrage at the killings, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham called them “wholly intolerable”. She announced sending of additional state police officers to Albuquerque to aid in the investigation.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has offered a $10,000 reward to whoever provides information leading to the killer or killers’ arrest. It is the largest Muslim civil rights group in the United States. Al-Jazeera reported.

The incident has created tension and panic in the city’s Muslim community.
