Saharanpur: A viral video showing a youth spitting on bread while preparing it at a dhaba in Saharanpur district has led to the arrest of the establishment’s owner.
The incident occurred at “Dastarkhwan,” a hotel near the grass market in Chhatmalpur town under the jurisdiction of Fatehpur police station. In the video, a minor employee is seen spitting on the bread while cooking, prompting outrage after the footage circulated online.
Following the video’s spread on social media, a complaint was filed by Nitesh Berthwal, who accused the hotel staff of engaging in behavior that hurt the religious sentiments of his community. The complaint led to the arrest of Usman, the hotel owner, and the detention of the minor employee.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain confirmed that a case has been registered, and further action is being considered, including the possible closure of the hotel.
