Hyderabad: A huge fire broke out at a hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.
The fire has engulfed a major part of the multi-story building of Ankura Hospital in the Gudimalkapur area. It was immediately not clear if there are any casualties.
Huge flames engulfed the upper floor of the building. Four fire tenders and the Disaster Response Force (DRF) have been rushed to the scene.
Fire services personnel and the police are presently evacuating the patients from the hospital.
The fire reportedly started from a flexi on top of the hospital building located near Pillar No. 70 on PVNR Expressway.
According to UNI a major fire broke out in the 10-storied Ankura Hospital in Gudimalkapur, Mehdipatnam, on Saturday evening.
The fire originated on the top floor of the hospital and subsequently spread to the next two floors. Upon receiving information, four fire tenders rushed to the scene and worked to extinguish the flames.
Hospital staff and fire officials collaborated in the rescue efforts for patients within the hospital. As of now, no casualties have been reported.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined by the police. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway, the police said.
