Hyderabad: Sameer Waliullah, President of the Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC), expressed confidence in the Congress winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.
Submitting his candidacy application on Saturday at Gandhi Bhavan, Waliullah criticized the AIMIM’s leadership, claiming their failure to bring development to Hyderabad over the years.
Waliullah accused AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi of damaging Muslim interests nationwide by fueling communal politics. Dismissing Owaisi’s claim as the sole representative of Muslims, Waliullah emphasized Congress’s history of nurturing diverse Muslim leaders. He accused AIMIM of suppressing Muslim leadership in other secular parties and interfering in recent Assembly elections to hinder Congress candidates.
Waliullah declared an end to AIMIM’s communal politics and expressed confidence that change would begin with Congress winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.
The Congress leader has intensified party activities and is preparing a strategy for the upcoming elections in all seven Assembly segments.
