Hyderabad: 9-year-old girl commits suicide by hanging self

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Begumpet here on Thursday. The girl who was a class 5 student allegedly did not want to go to school. She was a student of a private school in Market Police Station limits.

The girl took the extreme step when her mother Geeta, a maid servant, went to work in nearby houses. The girl had not gone to school for the last six days. The Indian Express reported.

Girl’s six-year-old brother was at home when the tragic incident occurred. He began screaming when he saw his sister ending her life. The neighbours heard the boy’s shouts and came rushing. Seeing the girl’s limp body hanging from the ceiling, they immediately lowered her and rushed her to a hospital. However, the doctors declared her brought dead.

An autopsy was performed  at Gandhi Hospital and her body was handed over to her mother.
