Hyderabad : ACB sleuths caught Sub-Inspector, Head Constable for taking bribe
Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday evening caught red-handed a Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable of Miyapur Police Station here when they were accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday evening caught red-handed a Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable of Miyapur Police Station here when they were accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
A ACB release on Wednesday said, the Head Constable Dande Venkat Reddy was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe on the instruction of Sub-Inspector P Yadagiri Rao to do an official favour for the complainant Thandra Ashok Kumar.
The release also said that, on Monday, Dande Venkat Reddy had demanded and accepted Rs 30,000 from Kumar in the premises of Miyapur Police Station and handed it over to Yadagiri Rao, taking a total bribe amount of Rs 50,000.
The bribe amount of Rs. 20,000 was recovered from the front left side pant pocket of Dande Venkat Reddy.
The accused officers performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
They will be arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court here, the release added.
