Hyderabad: Historical Charminar temporarily closed to public


Hyderabad: Charminar, the historical monument in Hyderabad, will undergo a temporary closure to the public on Saturday due to the Muharram procession. The Hyderabad office of the Archeological Survey of India has announced this decision in response to a request from the Hyderabad police.

As a result of the procession, the sale of online tickets for visiting Charminar will also be suspended for the day.

The Bibi-ka-Alam procession, observed on the 10th day of the Muharram, the Hijri month, will take place on Saturday, starting from Bibi-ka-Alawa and concluding at Masjid-e Ilahi grounds Chaderghat. This procession covers a distance of approximately seven kilometers.
