Hyderabad Mayor urges public not to venture outdoors except in emergencies

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Mayor, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, has urgently called upon the public to stay indoors as the city faces incessant rainfall for the past 72 hours. The heavy downpour has caused flooding in numerous colonies, including Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Panjagutta, Ameerpet, Borabanda, Kukatpally, Madhapur, and Film Nagar. To address the situation, the Mayor has instructed GHMC officials to deploy Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams in low-lying areas.

To ensure the safety of residents, the Mayor has advised evacuating occupants from dilapidated buildings at risk of collapse and relocating them to safer places. Furthermore, precautions are being taken to prevent accidents in areas where development work is in progress.

In light of the disrupted power supply in several parts of the city, the public is strongly urged to venture outdoors only in case of emergencies. For relief programs under GHMC, residents can contact the designated helpline at 9000113667.
