Hyderabad: Newborn baby’s body found in RGI airport washroom

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a newborn baby boy’s body was found in the women’s washroom of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday.

The body which had started decomposing was found at the C-Level ladies washroom in the passenger terminal.

The incident came to light when some workers, who went into the washroom to attend to plumbing and regular maintenance work, sensed a foul smell and when they checked the washroom found the infant’s body. Telangana Today reported.

Officials suspect that the child might have died soon after birth and the body could have been dumped there. The child is believed to have died two days ago.

The airport authorities informed the police. Police booked a case for concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code.

The police are examining footage from surveillance cameras in the surroundings to identify who abandoned the body.
