Police confiscated 18 grams of MDMA drugs, valued at Rs 1.20 lakhs, from the suspect’s possession.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, collaborated with the Film Nagar Police to apprehend Shivrampur Babu Kiran, an interstate drug peddler from Bangalore.
The arrest unfolded at Moonshine Pub, within the jurisdiction of Film Nagar Police Station, as Babu Kiran attempted to transport MDMA drugs into Hyderabad city, according to a police statement.
The accused, Shivrampur Babu Kiran, is a native of Bangalore and works as a cab driver to sustain his livelihood. Faced with insufficient income to support his family, Babu Kiran succumbed to drug addiction and developed a close friendship with M Dinakaran, an auto driver in Bangalore.
Babu Kiran, in collaboration with Dinakaran, procured MDMA drugs at a rate of Rs. 6000 per gram to sell them in Hyderabad City. Acting on credible information, the West Zone Task Force team apprehended both individuals at Moonshine Pub in Film Nagar, Hyderabad.
The arrested individuals and the seized materials, including 18 grams of MDMA, have been handed over to the SHO Film Nagar Police Station for further legal proceedings.
