Hyderabad RPO Ranks in Top Five Nationwide for Passport Issuance, Over 7.85 Lakh Passports Issued in 2023

Regional Passport Office (RPO) Hyderabad achieved a remarkable ranking, standing fifth in the country in terms of the number of passports issued in 2023.

Hyderabad: Regional Passport Office (RPO) Hyderabad achieved a remarkable ranking, standing fifth in the country in terms of the number of passports issued in 2023.

Demonstrating unwavering commitment to public service, RPO Hyderabad, under the guidance of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has surpassed its previous records, issuing 7,85,485 passports in 2023 (till date) compared to 6,43,157 in 2022, a release said here on Friday.

In response to the growing demand for passport services in the region, RPO Hyderabad initiated special drives on Saturdays throughout the year.

As of November 2023, India has collectively issued more than 1.5 crore passports and passport related travel documents across all regions. This reflects the Government’s commitment to ensuring timely and efficient passport services to its citizens.

RPO Hyderabad, (including the 5 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Telangana) on an average process around 4000 applications every day and has processed around 8.11 lakh applications this year, including services for passport issuance, Police Clearance Certificates (PCC).
