Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have imposed Section 144 for 4 days from July 1 to 4, in view of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national executive meet in the city.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a galaxy of senior party leaders and CMs of BJP-ruled states will attend the meeting to be held on July 2 and 3.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra, on Wednesday, issued prohibitory orders against a gathering of more than five people. The move is being taken to prevent riots or affray and maintain public peace.
As per the notification, police officers, military personnel, home guards on duty, and funeral processions are exempted from the operation of this order.
Telangana Today quoted the orders as stating, “The public hereby informed that any person violating the above orders shall be liable for prosecution under Section 144 Cr. P.C.”
The venue for the BJP’s meet is Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) at Gachibowli. Flying of drones or any kind of flying machines above a radius of 5 km at the venue is also prohibited.
The order will be in force from 6 am on June 30 till 6 pm on July 4 and will be applicable under the limits of Cyberabad Metropolitan commissionerate area in the city.
