IIT Hyderabad to test first ever passenger drone soon
The IIT-Hyderabad was given a project for this passenger drone vehicle by the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission for Cyber Physical systems.
Hyderabad: In major development in making the drone passenger vehicles a reality, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Hyderabad) is going to test the first ever passenger drone soon.
The Director of IIT-Hyderabad Prof BS Murthy said that a team of faculty and students were working on the project for a long time. Since their work was nearing completion, Prof Murty said that the IIT-Hyderabad was planning to test the Drone at its campus soon.
The IIT-Hyderabad was given a project for this passenger drone vehicle by the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission for Cyber Physical systems.
The Director said that the passenger drone vehicles will be used in small areas like companies, educational campuses; he said that the passenger drone vehicles will be of great use when areas like the North Eastern area witness landslides because they would be handy in rescue operations.
As an Indian government is resolved to make India self-reliant in Science and Technology, the Director said that the department of Science and Technology is encouraging the institutes like IIT-Hyderabad to develop aerial, water and road vehicles.
