Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao made an announcement on Monday regarding the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail network in the capital region. During the launch of Haritha Haram Phase-9 at Tumuluru village in Ranga Reddy, he confirmed that the Hyderabad Metro Rail would soon be extended up to the Shamshabad airport, with further plans to extend it to Kandukur in the Maheshwaram constituency.
In response to Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy’s request to extend the Metro Rail to Kandukur, the Chief Minister expressed his support, considering it a genuine demand that deserved immediate attention. Including the Shamshabad airport in the initial phases of the Metro Rail line was considered the minimum requirement from the planners.
