Hyderabad: The Working President of the BRS Party, K T Rama Rao (KTR), on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and its Telangana Chief, Revanth Reddy.
He alleged that the Congress party was now under the control of an individual previously embroiled in the ‘vote-for-note’ scandal, labeling him as a corrupt leader involved in selling party seats at varying prices. KTR went further, suggesting that if the Congress were to come to power, it might end up “selling” the state of Telangana itself.
Minister KTR made these remarks during his visits to Nalgonda and Suryapet, where he inaugurated IT Towers and participated in various development programs on Monday.
KTR criticized Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, claiming that during his tenure as a Minister in the Congress Government, he failed to bring any significant development to Nalgonda. KTR asserted that Venkat Reddy couldn’t even provide a basic computer to the people in the region, let alone attract IT companies.
KTR expressed concerns regarding the six guarantees proposed by the Congress, suggesting that if the Congress were to govern, three outcomes were likely: only three hours of daily power supply, frequent changes in the Chief Minister’s position, and an increase in corruption and scams within the state. He stated that the identity of the future Chief Minister under Congress rule would be uncertain, potentially leading to a power crisis.
KTR pointed out that under Chief Minister KCR’s leadership, Telangana had initiated several social welfare programs, including pensions for senior citizens, widows, and physically challenged individuals. He highlighted that the pension amounts provided by Telangana were unparalleled by any Congress or BJP-led state government.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s characterization of the BRS Party as a family party, KTR countered by describing the BRS Party as a family of four crore people in Telangana, with CM KCR serving as the head of the family. KTR cited CM KCR’s efforts in providing pensions to the elderly and supporting farmers through initiatives like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema. He stressed that CM KCR was an integral part of every family in Telangana.
Addressing BJP’s allegations of dynasty politics within the BRS Party, KTR emphasized that the party adhered to the ideologies of historical figures like Queen Rani Rudrama Devi, revolutionary leader Komaram Bheem, and social reformer Bhagya Reddy Varma. He stated that the party worked tirelessly to uplift marginalized sections of society and follow the principles of Telangana martyrs like Srikanth Achari.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, KTR asserted that the BRS Party followed the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, while alleging that the BJP pursued politics rooted in the ideology of Nathuram Godse.
In response to Prime Minister Modi’s claim that CM KCR had not waived farm loans in Telangana, KTR refuted the statement, noting that CM KCR had already waived farm loans twice in the state and urged the Prime Minister to refrain from making baseless allegations.
