Kuwait to act tough against expatriates protested over Prophet’s remark

Kuwait has announced to arrest and deport protesters who had hit streets on the issue. The protesters may include Indians, Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals and other Arab expats.

Kuwait: In a significant move, Kuwait has said that it will deport expatriate who participated in a demonstration against the remarks made by suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Kuwait’s announcement came a week after summoning Indian ambassador to convey concerns over remarks against Prophet Mohammad by now suspended BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal

Kuwait in a significant move has decided to arrest and deport protestors including Asians who had hit streets on the issue last Friday.

40-50 migrants had launched protests on June 10 after Friday prayers had launched protests in Kuwait’s Fahaheel area and raised slogans.

Now Kuwait has announced to arrest and deport protesters who had hit streets on the issue. The protesters may include Indians, Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals and other Arab expats.

According to local sources, protestors may be permanently banned from entering Kuwait. Holding protests and agitations by foreigners is considered a serious crime in Kuwait.

The remarks by now suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had triggered massive protests in the Gulf. The Arab nations including Kuwait had summoned Indian envoys to register strong protests over the issue.
