Muscat: The Ministry of Health in Oman has announced that all citizens and residents intending to perform Hajj this year must visit designated health institutions in their respective governorates to obtain necessary vaccinations.

According to international sources, the Ministry clarified that pilgrims are required to receive quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate (ACYW135) vaccinations.

The Ministry further stated that this vaccine provides protection for a period of five years and also recommends seasonal flu vaccines, which offer defense against potential complications.

All citizens, residents, and prospective Hajj pilgrims in Oman have been strongly advised to receive this vaccine approximately 10 days before traveling, emphasizing the importance of timely vaccination.

An announcement from the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs revealed that this year, a total of 33,536 individuals, including 3,606 non-Omani nationals, have registered online for Hajj, who will embark on the journey of pilgrimage.
